From our warehouse in Ostrobothnia, Finland we ship all orders received on weekdays before 14:00 the same day.
Why Arctic Caveman?
We believe in prime quality, which is why we only sell carefully selected, sustainably manufactured products. Our first product line is handmade chef’s knives and kitchen supplies made in Germany.
Quality
Quality starts with the raw material. FELIX only uses premium raw materials such as high-alloyed X50 CrMoV15 chromium molybdenum vanadium steel, Japanese VG10 multi-layer Damascus steel or X65 CR13 razor blade steel. The blades are drop-forged in one piece and some are stamped, depending on the design of the knife. Due to the homogenous and compact grain structure of the steel’s microstructure all the blades guarantee flexibility, resistance to corrosion and great edge retention.
Quality is precise workmanship. FELIX traditionally produces knives by hand. A knife from Felix goes through about 45 different procedures before it will leave the factory. Every single step consists of centuries-old Solingen knowledge, craftsmanship and a lot of skill. It is also a case of experience, a good eye, precision, care and love of detail.
One part of the quality is also the design. How the knife is shaped, how does it fit your hand, the balance, the weight and how if feels when cutting. When you pick up one of our handmade German knifes you will immediately feel the quality.
Tradition
Karl Gustav Felix founded his company in Solingen Germany back in 1790. The company started out from producing cutlery and started to focus on kitchen knifes in an early stage in the company.
Felix of Solingen is one of the oldest and most respectable knife manufactures in the world. The knifes made in Solingen are among the best kitchen and chef´s knifes in the world.
Handmade production
All knifes we sell on Arctic Caveman is Handmade in Solingen Germany. Our knifes can be regrinded and re-sharpened "for life". This i sustainable and something we value on Arctic Caveman.
Felix have been producing knifes by hand since 1790, they do not produce mass goods, all knifes ordered have been made specific for the order made by actual people in Germany. Small batches and no overproduction makes their productionline efficient and sustainable. This is something we take seriusly in todays word that is filled with over consumtion.
All our knifes on Arctic Caveman has wooden handles made from woods with special limited deforestation and reforestation programmes under state supervision.
We care for the Nature and Enviroment, therefore we only work with companys that share our values.
